on our way to the Maldives we have made a 5-day stop over in Dubai.
(un)fortunatelly there is nothing really bad I can say about the train or the train ride from singapore to kuala lumpur, the train was what we have expected, specious but very worn off, a bit filthy, somehow smelly but it was all right, especially for the price of 34 euros for the premier class. the [...]
last day in singapore we spent spending lots of money by not doing much. after half of the day on the hotel pool and quite bad sunburn (Katie – we from the south are not so used to the sun… ;-), we made our way to the electronics shopping mall! yeah, we could have waited [...]
first thing we did in morning was to go to the railway station and buy train tickets to kuala lumpur. as far as we were informed the railway station is situated in the only bad neighborhood in singapore – we didn’t notice anything bad about it… yes it’s next to a two stories highway, but [...]
here is what we did that day: left the hotel and immediately crashed a wedding, strolled through little india looking for a bus station (we saw a tourist tour bus the day before – yes, of course we’re old and lazy!) took a random bus somewhere and walked back; found a temple, three byciclettes, a kindergarten [...]
our night in Singapore ended with a light stroll through Chinatown (mum, there are kimonos in 100000 colours and patterns!!!),

… by staying up late, getting up really early, catching the flight at 18:00 (Vienna), catching the conecting flight at 23:40 (Istanbul), catching another connecting flight around 17:00 (Bangkok). Amadeus was so nice to give me the pre flight shot of lovenox (love???), anti-thrombosis drug. Didn’t hurt AT ALL! ;-) We checked in (online), but I’m [...]

there was not much but shopping, shopping and – wait for it – shopping. from chinook centre to signal hill, western hill and market mall, sunridge mall, even to red deer we hit the road for last trip. please, do not ask why! ;-)
after getting out of the room sometimes around 2pm, we managed a drive to lake minnewanka (minni-wanker?) and lake two jack which was incredible silent and beautiful! banff town is not really big, but busy indeed and there is no explanation, why all the places and lakes around this town are that peaceful and uncrowded!?
